Joel Harlow
Oscar winner and two-time Emmy winner Joel Harlow (top left), advising students in Special Effects Makeup. Joel is best-known for his Oscar-winning work on J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, and multiple blockbuster collaborations with actor Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Alice In Wonderland, The Lone Ranger).
Multiple Emmy-nominee and Chief Academic Officer at CMS, Mike Spatola (left) leads a blood effects demonstration. Mike's credits include Iron Man 3 and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. He is also well-known in the monster makeup world as the author of the Monstrous Make-up Manual, Vol.1 and Vol. 2.
CMS Director of Admissions Lee Joyner demonstrates sculpting techniques. In addition to his work at the school, Lee is a working makeup artist and sculptor whose credits include Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Godzilla, Stargate SG-1, Mimic, and Star Trek: Voyager. He has also worked with musical artists Usher, Slipknot, and Alice Cooper.
Kris Kobzina (center) applies a zombie prosthetic at CMS. Kris has worked on Spider-Man, X-Men: The Last Stand and is well known to TV audiences for being a finalist on season 4 of SyFy Network's makeup reality show, Face Off.
Rod Maxwell (center) helps students in ZBrush class. Rod is well-known to TV audiences as a fan-favorite from season 3 of SyFy's Face Off. Rod is a multi-talented artist, with a background in film, animation, and digital arts to go with his makeup work. He contributed prominently for the national anti-smoking PSA campaign, "TRUTH."
Kevin Brennan preps a blood demonstration. Kevin is a veteran of several legendary special effects labs, having worked on such classics as Videodrome, The Howling, and An American Werewolf in London. He also worked on effects for (and appeared on screen as a zombie in) the iconic video for Michael Jackson's "Thriller."
Nelly Recchia
Professional makeup artist & bodypainter Nelly Recchia creating a piece in her signature style at a CMS seminar. Nelly has worked with such artists as Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Britney Spears, Marilyn Manson, and Dita Von Teese. Her work also appears prominently in the Robert Downey, Jr. cult classic, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
Wendy Ann Rosen (left) leading a lecture. Wendy Ann is a veteran of the fashion editorial, and advertising industry. Her work has appeared in many major fashion magazines and campaigns for national brands such as Guess.

Greg McDougal
Greg McDougall demonstrates life casting technique on Breakfast club's John Kapelos. Some of Greg’s credits include: Smiley, Creep Show 3, War of the Worlds, and MTV’s Parental Control.
Gayla Basehart
Gayla Baseheart (right) assists a Beauty student. Some of Gayla's credits include projects for HBO, Discovery, Sci Fi, E!, Comedy Central, ESPN, FOX and work with celebrities, including Ice Cube, Chris Rock, Billy Bob Thorton, Magic Johnson, Martin Sheen, Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi.
Mireille Bertrand
Mireille Bertrand, an international runway artist, gives a high fashion demo.
Miles Teves helps a student with her sculpture. Miles is a top Hollywood creature and concept designer. He is best known for his work on Legend and for designing the suit for the film adaptation of Iron Man.
Tim Turner
Digital Makeup FX instructor Tim Turner demonstrates digital texture techniques. Some of Tim’s credits include: Harry and the Hendersons; Honey, I Shrunk the Kids; The Addams Family; Army of Darkness; Sleepwalkers; CSI; and Las Vegas.
J.D. Bowers
Special Effects instructor J.D. Bowers gives a lecture to a Special Effects class. Some of his credits include: Step Brothers, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay, Superhero Movie, Meet The Spartans, CSI, In The Valley of Elah, Entourage, Resident Evil: Extincition, Defiance, and Yes Man.
Douglas Noe
Emmy-winning makeup master Douglas Noe does an aging demo. Douglas's credits include: AI: Artificial Intelligence, Spiderman 3, Angels & Demons, and Halloween (2007).
John Goodwin
John Goodwin helps a student apply a beard. John is an Emmy Award winner and some of his credits include: The Thing, Men In Black, CSI, Legend, The Incredible Hulk Returns, and The Trial of the Incredible Hulk.
Jim Kagel
